After 13 years a new mela awaits...

Bradford City Mela 2026 marks the launch of a bold new cultural celebration and the revival of Bradford’s much-loved Mela tradition, returning to City Park and Centenary Square on 1–2 August 2026.

Bringing together music, dance, food, fashion, art, and live performance, the event will celebrate the richness, creativity, and diversity of Bradford’s communities through a vibrant weekend of culture and entertainment. Rooted in the spirit of the historic Bradford Mela while reimagined for a new generation, Bradford City Mela 2026 aims to create an inclusive and unforgettable experience for audiences of all backgrounds.

Built around four core mission objectives, the Mela is designed to champion:
-
Civic Unity – strengthening connections across Bradford’s diverse communities through shared cultural celebration;
-
Accessibility – ensuring the festival is welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all ages, abilities, and backgrounds;
-
Sustainability – delivering the event with environmentally conscious planning and community-focused practices;
-
Empowerment – creating opportunities for local artists, performers, traders, creatives, and community voices to shine on a major platform.

Free and open to all, Bradford City Mela 2026 will be a powerful celebration of identity, community, and culture — honouring the legacy of past melas while introducing a fresh new vision for the future of Bradford’s cultural landscape.
